Hey everyone,

Our next meeting will be Thursday the 1st at 7:00. It'll be at New Cabell, but
the room number hasn't been confirmed yet, so look out for another email. Our
speaker will be Andy Thomson, who is a psychiatrist at CAPS. He's given talks
for us before, and they always provoke good questions and discussion. There
will also be pizza. Here's how he describes the talk he'll be giving for us
tomorrow:

Why We Believe In God(s): An Introduction to the Science of Faith
 
Science, especially the cognitive and social neurosciences, shows us how the
human mind generates, maintains, and spreads religious beliefs. More than an
outline is apparent, and with each passing day the psychological mechanisms,
the neuroanatomy, and the neurochemistry of religion continue to come into
sharper focus. The presentation will review some of the basic psychological
mechanisms that create and sustain religious beliefs and rituals.

So anyway, if you like pizza or like the sound of this talk or just want to
hang out, you should come to this meeting.
