Hi all, sorry for the long email. Please check out the Atheists on the Radio bit!

We'll be going to the Tea Bazaar on the downtown mall this Thursday. Meet at the Chapel Bus stop by 7:10pm and we'll take the Free Trolley downtown. The Tea Bazaar has lots and lots of tea, but you should come hang out even if you don't like tea because it's a pretty cool place!

Next, some opportunities:

1) The VAA has an ongoing relationship with the Center for Christian Study, particularly through the Faith, Reason, and Science discussion group. There's a meeting this Friday at 4pm at the Center for Christian Study (which is near the corner). If you've never attended but are interested, let me know!

2) The Faith, Reason, and Science discussion group is looking for people to facilitate discussions later this semester. If you have a relevant article or chapter of a book that you'd like to discuss, or might be interested in leading a discussion, send me an email!

3) Atheists on the Radio:

Virginia Atheists —

I am an occasional attendant and reliable lurker on this list.

I also host a live, monthly radio show on WPVC, the Sunday Morning Wake-Up Call, and I would like to do a show about atheism. To be clear, I am not interested in a point-counterpoint talk where a theist and an atheist come in and share their points. Rather, I want to have a nakedly partisan discussion about what it means to be an atheist, how one came to that in their life, and why are we so scary.

I am a lifelong atheist myself, so I won’t even pretend to be impartial. I would like to have a frank and open conversation, and if we’re lucky, even take calls.

I am looking for up to two people who’d be willing to come onto a live radio show and talk about their atheism. The Sunday Morning Wake-Up Call is a weekly show, and I substitute-host once a month. The next time I am on is March 27, which also happens to be Easter Sunday; that seems like a perfect day for this discussion. The WPVC studios are on 29 in the Seminole Square shopping center. The show airs live at 11AM and is recorded for podcast.

If you are interested, please drop me a line and maybe give a word or two about why you’d be the perfect guest.

I look forward to hearing back from you.
