Just wanted to remind everyone that we are having a movie night this Saturday at 8pm at 1411 Gordon Ave (same location as the party). We will have several movie options to vote on. Hope to see you there

Lastly, Bill Wilder, our friend at the Center for Christian Studies, has decided to continue the twice-monthly faith and science discussion group. The details follow. If you're interested in attending, send me an email and I'll forward you a copy of the reading (but feel free to come even if you don't have time to do the reading!).In addition, we are having a movie night (free popcorn!) this Saturday at 8pm at 1411 Gordon Ave. We haven't decided what movie to watch yet, so if you have a suggestion, let me or Rolph know.Hi all,We will be meeting this Thursday by the Homer statue (in front of Old Cabell Hall) at 7pm to play outdoor games. Frisbees are guaranteed, a slackline or game of capture the flag could make an appearance, and if you have anything potentially fun (croquet or bocce anyone???), bring it!Dear Faith, Reason and Science folks:Greetings from the Study Center! I hope this semester is off to a good start for you all. It’s time to reconvene our ongoing discussion of faith and science. As you may know, this is a rare opportunity to participate in a civil and yet honest exchange on the implications of science and faith for our lives. We have talked about physics and and the anthropic principle, geology and the age of the earth, biology and the evidence for evolution, psychology and the existence of the soul, and epistemology (how we know what we know) at every turn. And now for a new year of conversation! Some of you may know that we’ve discussed other formats for this year’s conversation. At the end of the day we decided to return to our tried-and-true biweekly meeting on Fridays at 4:00 pm. We will begin this Friday, September 18, at the Study Center. You’ll see that I’ve attached our reading for this time together: an interview with E. O. Wilson followed by an interview with Francis Collins. Equal opportunity provocation!Remember we have refreshments (in case your energy is flagging Friday afternoon). Remember too to bring a friend. All are welcome. I’ll hope to see you then.Best,BillOh, and for those interested in hiking, have no fear: we are currently working on rescheduling the hike!Scott
