Hi everyone,
This week our speaker is Kunal Kathuria, a member of the Bhakti Yoga Club at UVA. He recently earned his PhD in Physics at UVA. He will be speaking this Thursday about Bhakti Yoga, a spiritual and philosophical school within Hinduism.
Bhakti Yoga was brought to the US in the 1960s by Srila Prabhupada and had an immediate impact (both the Beatles and Allen Ginsberg knew and interacted with Prabhupada, for example). Bhakti is often known as the Hare Krishna movement in the US, but the practice stretches back many centuries in India. The most important text, among many others, is the Bhagavad Gita.
We will be meeting on Thursday, Sept. 19th at 7pm in Gibson 211. Gibson Hall is the building attached to Nau Hall in the South Lawn area. Hope to see you there!
