Hello VAAers,
This week we will be joined by Dr. Andy Thomson, author of Why We Believe in God(s): A Concise Guide to the Science of Faith. Dr. Thomson is a Trustee of the Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science and a staff psychiatrist for Counseling and Psychological Services here at UVA. He will be speaking to us this Thursday about the scientific explanation for religious beliefs and practices, including the evolutionary psychology of religion and the neurobiology of ritual.
We will be meeting at 7pm in Nau 211 on Thursday, September 5. We hope to see you there!
