Hey,
We need your help tabling TOMORROW, from 2-4 P.M., for Ask an Atheist day. If you can spare even a half hour that's a big contribution; come hang out with us and put atheism in the public square!
Sign up on the doodle poll or you're a bad person: http://www.doodle.com/uft5qfdu4uehmtai
You get this sticker:
And! Panel discussion Thursday 6 P.M.; free pizza, a professor, new cabell 424. (See flyer above). Come to that too!

Hey All,A lot going on this week:1. A talk on religion and the law2. Tabling for "Ask an Atheist"3. A panel open to the public on "Ask an Atheist" day---1. At our meeting on Tuesday, Frank will be giving a talk about "when and why religious people break the law." The title of his presentation, punning on this movie, is: "Mr. Smith or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Scalia." As Frank describes the talk: "We will see how the courts allowed religious people to break laws they don't like. We will then see how Justice Scalia was, on at least one day in his life, not wrong about something. Then we will see how congress responded, and the implications it has for current controversies surrounding gay rights and Obamacare." Join us at:New Cabell 323, 7:00 P.M., Tues, 4/162. Additionally, the national "Ask an Atheist Day" falls on Thursday of this week. The VAA will be participating in two ways. As we have done in the past, on Tuesday and Wednesday we will have Ask an Atheist tabling on the lawn, where any passer-bys can come chat with us. It can be a chance to (nicely) explain the atheist perspective, and enjoy some good conversation (or conversion attempts.)Anyhow, it is a fun chance to be an atheist in public, so I encourage you to table. To make sure we have a decent amount of people there, we have a doodle poll where youcanshould sign up:Times are from 2-4 pm on both days.3. On Thursday: we will be hosting an Ask an Atheist Panel, with professor Jonathan Cannon and VAA members. Invite your religious friends; this is their chance to have quality interaction with real atheists. Tell them there will be pizza! We need good questions from the audience, as this event will purely be Q&A. (See Flyer attached for details.)Lastly, want to learn more about the secular movement/become better at running atheist organizations? Then you should contact Frank (frank.bellamy@gmail.com) about attending the Secular Student Alliance's annual conference this summer. Thanks,VAA PresidentJohn Kubinski
