Hey Everyone,
Here are some announcements, they're good for you to hear:
1. Tonight at VAA House (1034 Preston Avenue), we will be hosting a movie night for any one who would like to come hang out. We'll be watching Bill Maher's comedic and sardonic documentary, Religulous. Starts at 7:30 P.M. The inner-loop bus can get you here if you get off at the Mad-Preston stop. But if you need help, or a ride, help can be provided, so let us know.
2. I'm pleased to announce the next series of VAA TED talks (or TEDxVAA, if you like the conference's own taxonomy), to be held next Tuesday at our regular meeting. Inspired by TED, we will be having people give short pithy talks about ideas they find interesting, provocative, or important. What does this mean for you? Well! This means that if you'd like to give a talk, and tell other VAAers about something, here's an excellent chance to do so! Talks can be about anything, and our target length is only 5 minutes (can be more or less though.) If it's interesting to you, it's interesting to us, so do share.
Some examples of talks people plan to give are:
- The present state and future of medicine
- Why inter-sexual relations are coming to an end (by me)
More details on the location will be forthcoming. You don't have to give a talk to attend of course, and any body should be able to give one if they so decide at the event. If you're planning on talking, I wouldn't mind you telling me about it, just so we know how tight we're gonna be with scheduling everyone.
3. VAA Constitutional Convention will be on Saturday. If you'd like to participate, join us at Rice Hall at 4:00 P.M.. Check out the facebook event.
4. If you want to buy a VAA shirt, bother me about it and I can probably sell you for one $20. My bad thus far.
That's all I have, see you all throughout the next week.
Good night,
John Kubinski
VAA President
