Our newest resource is something that I wanted to share with this group. Vibe Check (checkyourvibe.org) is a free, private, self-guided reflection tool designed for young people who might have caused harm. And it is populated entirely by SafeBAE’s resources, not AI.

The idea came from something we kept seeing online. Across forums like Reddit and with the rise of popularity of AI/ChatGPT, young people regularly post questions like: “I think I might have accidentally assaulted someone -- what should I do?” The responses they receive are often chaotic, shaming, or deeply harmful. 

Right now there are almost no resources for young people who are genuinely trying to understand how not to or whether they have crossed a boundary and how to take responsibility if they did. Vibe Check is meant to be a vulnerable and anonymous space where they can get answers, find resources, and learn. Instead of judging or labeling someone, the tool helps users slow down and think through what happened step by step. It guides them through reflection, education about consent and power dynamics, and practical pathways for accountability, communication, and prevention. 

We recently soft-launched the tool in a Vox article about teen boys turning to AI for advice about relationships and consent, which is helping to bring some early attention to the idea, with the goal of seeking more funding to develop the next phase of the tool.
