Dear Colleagues -

We hope you are all doing as well as possible given the challenges we are facing in our field. This past January, in response to recent laws and policies impacting funding and structural support for campus sexual violence prevention and response services, we sent out a call to practitioners across the US to join us for the following sessions:
  1. Part 1: Identifying Current and Anticipated Barriers in Campus SA/IPV Prevention and Response (held virtually on February 19, 2025)
  2. Part 2: Addressing and Taking Action Against Identified Barriers in Our Work (held virtually on March 19, 2025)
Two hundred and eighty-four professionals from around the US registered for the meetings
and submitted information via Google forms, and a total of 140 professionals participated live
across the two 75-minute sessions. Participants included campus and community advocates,
preventionists, Title IX, student conduct, counselors, medical professionals, administrators,
and legal and law enforcement officers.

The end goal of these meetings was to develop an accessible tool for professionals working to sustain their campus SA/IPV response and prevention work. The report: Resistance in Restriction: Practitioner Approaches to Preserving Campus Sexual Violence Prevention + Response Services in a Threatening Political Climate can be found here.

We hope that in reading the report you will discover actionable steps and ideas to preserve the vital work you are doing at your schools and in your communities. We also hope that you find validation and solidarity with the folks who contributed.

Lastly, we will host another virtual session this September as we unfortunately expect these challenges to continue. Registration information coming this summer.

Thank you for all you do and please let us know if we can support you in any way. We are here for you and with you.

In solidarity,

Juliette and Amy
