Dear colleagues,

The National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA) is hosting virtual listening sessions with college students to inform the develop of our new Youth Advocacy Corps; a pilot program funded by the Office for Victims of Crime. The Youth Advocacy Corps aims to elevate the next generation of youth leaders in victim services by providing college students from BIPOC, historically marginalized communities the opportunity to receive (1) specialized victim advocacy training, (2) advocacy credentialing, (3) mentorship, and (4) a nine-month, paid field placement at a local victim service agency. You can read more about the program, here.

NOVA and our research partner, Rainbow Research, are hosting listening sessions with students/youth/survivors as part of our program development on September 7 and 13 (flyers attached), to learn more about how youth think about victim services, advocacy, and what they believe they can bring to the field. All student participants will receive a complimentary, one-year NOVA membership and complimentary registration to NOVA’s Virtual Conference in 2024. Registration link is here.

We would be so grateful if you could share this opportunity to inform a national youth advocacy program with your students and networks!

Many thanks,

Shannon
