Hey all -
I hope you are well. Back in the Obama days we talked a lot on campus about [finally!] providing interim suspensions for students who posed a certain "level" of danger, while conduct was doing their investigation. There were also opportunities for interim supportive measures in which perhaps the respondent was not suspended, but was temporarily banned from housing, or temporarily could not do class in-person. All as efforts to keep the campus community safe.
I am trying to get a sense for how these types of measures are and are not continuing on campuses in the US, and if they are happening, what guidance folks are using to determine which cases qualify for these measures.
I believe so strongly in them and would love to keep recommending these measures as I present around the country on trauma-informed practices for campuses (and as I think of speakers/presentations for Puzzles Conference 2023, who could speak directly to these efforts on their campuses).
Thank you,
Juliette
