Dear colleagues,

With apologies for cross-posting, I am sending this email on behalf of some of our colleagues at the National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA) to ensure that all campus programs serving victims of crime are included in the 2023 National Census of Victim Service Providers (NCVSP). Please take a moment to complete this form so that your organization will receive an invitation to participate.

Background

The Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) is preparing to administer the 2023 NCVSP and is working with the National Organization for Victim Assistance, the Justice Research and Statistics Association, and Westat on this project. This collection provides national data on all programs and organizations that served victims of crime or abuse within the year prior to the survey. The NCVSP is critical to understanding the current landscape of victim services across the country and providing national data on victim service provision and characteristics of victim service providers. By accurately gathering information on all provider organizations, we can identify gaps in services and funding needs for programs responding to the needs of crime victims and survivors in communities across the country.

In preparation for the NCVSP, the team is working to identify as many victim service organizations as possible. While many organizations are included in state directories and lists of federally funded victim services, the team wants to make sure no programs are missing.

If you provide direct services to survivors of crime, please take a few minutes to complete this simple formPlease add your organization to the list by Friday, January 13th.

Any information you provide will only be used for statistical purposes during the study and in ways that will not reveal names of individual organizations or personal contact information. If you have any questions, please contact the project director, Susan Howley, at .

This project was supported by Grant No. 15PBJS-21-GK-02597-RESS awarded by the Bureau of Justice Statistics, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice.
