In this work to end sexual and domestic violence, we have an opportunity to plant the seeds of a just world every time we bring people together. "Together for a Just World: Planting the Seeds for Thriving Communities" is a three-day training that offers an opportunity to build skills for weaving values-based social justice into your daily prevention, advocacy, and community change work. You will have opportunities to practice, reflect, play, and strategize. Upon returning to your community, you can apply these skills and further hone your ability and capacity to weave your values into a variety of spaces – from support groups and staff meetings, to community response teams and prevention education.

 

Together for a Just World is designed for preventionists, advocates, and activists who have completed basic-level SV/DV training and have been engaged in movement work for at least 2-3 years. There is no fee to attend and meals will be provided. The training is being offered in 4 different regions across Virginia: Richmond, Annandale, Charlottesville, and Christiansburg. Applicants should apply for the training date that will be held nearest to you. Applicants must also apply with a partner and submit a joint application. Each training will be capped at 20 participants, or 10 pairs.

 

The next session of Together for a Just World will be held September 14-16, 2022 at the Action Alliance office in Richmond. The timeline for each day will be roughly between 8AM-5PM.
