Good afternoon SAPC listserv members:

The Healing and Advocacy Collective is seeking a Prevention Educator/Survivor Advocate:
The Healing & Advocacy Collective (H&A) is a college-based program to support students, staff, and faculty who have been impacted by power-based interpersonal violence (PBIV), including abusive relationships and bullying, hazing, stalking and threats, sexual assault and harassment, child abuse and neglect earlier in life, identity-based harm, and additional experiences of systemic trauma and harm.
While H&A’s priority is to advocate alongside and support people who have experienced/are experiencing PBIV, we also facilitate primary prevention activities including individual knowledge and skill-building, community education, provider training, networking and collaboration, and consultation about organizational practices and policies.
H&A is part of the Social Justice Center (SJC) at Emerson College. As part of the SJC, we identify the ways that PBIV is interconnected with other forms of violence, harm and injustice. We believe that we must collectively work together to address the larger structural roots of power, dominance, and oppression. We are committed to engaging in the work drawing from the lens of joy and liberation, as we envision a world where all communities are committed to community-building, radical care, and justice.
H&A staff includes the Director/Survivor Advocate and the Associate Director/Survivor Advocate. The Prevention Educator/Survivor Advocate will work closely with H&A and SJC staff, and report directly to the director of H&A.

The Prevention Educator/Survivor Advocate will transform the Emerson College culture by supporting people who have experienced PBIV with advocacy-based counseling, and facilitating training and educational workshops for students, staff, and faculty about PBIV, bystander intervention, trauma-informed approaches, anti-oppression and liberation-based strategies.

This position is permanent, full-time, salaried, and in-person on-campus in downtown Boston MA. For additional information and to apply, please visit here.

Warmly,
