Free Conference Series with the United States

Department of the Navy and SUNY

July 14 - 15, 2021

 

The Department of the Navy Sexual Assault, Sexual Harassment and Suicide Prevention & Response Office (DON SAPRO) and SUNY will host the first of a multi-part virtual conference series aimed at eliminating sexual assault and sexual harassment within higher education and the military services. Pre-Conference: July 13, 12-2 PM (ET)

Join Jennifer Grove, Prevention Director at the National Sexual Violence Resource Center and Dr. Sharyn Potter, Executive Director of Research at Prevention Innovations Research Center who will provide an overview of the foundational concepts of prevention. These pre-conference sessions are recommended for attendees who wish to gain a basic proficiency in prevention principles.

Acting Secretary of the Navy, Thomas Harker and SUNY Chancellor, Dr. Jim Malatras will speak to the importance and urgency of addressing these societal challenges. National experts will share key lessons learned on the role of leadership in changing culture and how we assess programmatic impact and progress. Participants will have the opportunity to join these interactive discussions, build partnerships, and learn the foundational knowledge and skills to create safer environments where all community members can thrive.
