SUNY SPECTRUM

SPECTRUM is the nation’s largest education conference devoted to preventing and responding to sexual and interpersonal violence against members of the LGBTQIA+ community. It provides cutting-edge training to enhance the knowledge and skills of attendees. Faculty, staff, law enforcement, medical professionals, and community service providers are trained on turning the dial on sexual and interpersonal violence against sexual and gender minorities, while also providing the trauma-informed and culturally-competent care when incidents do occur.

 

General registration is just $25 and is free for members of the Student Conduct Institute.

Jamie Gray Hyder is an American actress and model. Hyder performed voice and motion capture work for the role of Lieutenant Nora Salter in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. She also played Lucia Solano in Season 2 of Graceland, and the werewolf Danielle in Seasons 5 and 6 of True Blood. She stars as Detective Katriona "Kat" Tamin on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, the first Detective to openly identify as LGBTQ on the show.

Aisha C. Mills is a political commentator on CNN and MSNBC, seasoned political strategist and social impact advisor. She has led and won campaigns that build political power for women, people of color and LGBTQ people for close to twenty years.

 

A nationally respected voice on progressive policy and politics, she appears regularly on national news networks and has published dozens of policy reports and political and cultural analyses at the intersection of race, gender, and sexuality. She has been recognized as one of the “Out 100” influencers by Out Magazine, The Root’s 100 most Influential African Americans, and Advocate Magazine’s “40 Under Forty” list of exemplary LGBTQ leaders.
