Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Campus Life, the Director of the Office of Respect provides departmental leadership, strategic visioning, advocacy, prevention/education efforts, management and operations, committee involvement (e.g., Hazing Prevention, Intimate Partner Violence Committee, Campus Life Senior Staff group,) and financial oversight for the office.
The Office of Respect aspires to end violence by ending oppression. As such, it oversees the implementation of trauma-informed, survivor-centered support to individuals impacted by sexual and interpersonal violence, bias, and other forms of oppression. The mission of the office is achieved, in collaboration with campus and community partners, through prevention, education, advocacy, crisis intervention, and policy development that supports survivors and dismantles oppressive systems.
