UC Berkeley is hiring an Associate Director for Prevention to lead UC Berkeley in crafting, implementing, and evaluating effective and comprehensive prevention efforts to address the systemic roots of violence, affect behavioral change, and meet federal, state campus, and UC systemwide recommendations for students, faculty and staff.
The candidate must have experience with violence prevention theories and frameworks, anti-oppression and social justice approach, and acumen to navigate complex institutions and motivate actions toward social change. Gender queer and transgender individuals, people of color, and people with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply. This position is based in Berkeley, CA and, currently, the department is operating remotely through (at least) January 2021. About the PATH to Care Center
The PATH to Care Center leads efforts to transform UC Berkeley into a community that is free of sexual violence, sexual harassment, intimate partner violence, and stalking through prevention, advocacy, training, and healing. We collaborate with the campus community to make social change with the goals of preventing, intervening in, and responding to harassment and violence, eliminating oppression, and creating the culture and environment we all aspire to and deserve. The PATH to Care Center serves staff, faculty, students, and visitors to the campus. This confidential department is in its 5th year of operations and is comprised of 12 full-time staff and a number of graduate and undergraduate student staff members and student leaders. The department is organizationally positioned within the Division of Student Affairs and the Office of the Chancellor.
