Dear Campus and Community Partners!
Chrysalis Network is so excited for our 7th Annual Solving the Campus Sexual Assault and Dating Violence Puzzle VIRTUAL International Conference held in partnership with the NC State University Counseling Center December 9-11, 2020. While the official title is TBD, below are this year's overarching themes (all within the context of an intersectional framework):
- Incorporating Black Lives Matter into our work
- SA/IPV prevention/response during COVID
- Navigating the latest TIX changes
- Sexual health, sexual intimacy, sex positivity, and pleasure as connected to consent
- Radical wellness, holistic healing, and self-care for survivors and professionals
- Sexual misconduct sanctioning and programs for respondents
- Prevention programs for varying communities, i.e. Spanish-speaking, LGBTQQI+, immigrants, people with disabilities, etc.
Applications due by 11:59pm Friday August 21, 2020.
If you are interested in being part of a wonderful group of humans, (see below for our 2019 group!) to create engaging and nuanced learning opportunities for our field, and you are interested in a free registration - please consider joining the puzzles advisory committee! The application should take about 10-15 minutes to complete.
In addition to virtually attending the conference, committee members are expected to put in about 10-15 hours of work from August-December via zoom and email.
General responsibilities include:
- determine conference title and theme
- advertise the conference with local, national, and international colleagues with the goal to recruit at least 5 attendees
- review, score, and select workshop proposals and poster sessions
- develop conference agenda
- finalize speakers
- provide virtual on-site support such as navigate chats, welcome speakers, facilitate discussion groups, etc. (This should be minimal-we want you to enjoy the conference! But if you are comfortable, we will likely need your assistance for a couple of these - this is all new, so we will see!)
Qualifications:
- You care about ending SV/IPV on college campuses and beyond
- Bonus: ANY skills related to running a virtual conference!
Serving on the committee means:
- Your conference registration fee is waived
- Your campus/organization will be considered a co-sponsor and therefore, with your permission, your logo will be on conference marketing materials and the website.
