Greetings, All:
The release of the final Title IX regulations by the Department of Education has sparked intense conversations across the country around student equity and rapid implementation. While concerns for survivor safety continue to amplify across higher education and community-based anti-violence offices supporting collegiate communities, a surprising discovery of a pattern emerged that offers evidence of survivor-centered language embedded within a document ripe with controversy for its unapologetic dismissal of trauma-informed adjudication practices.
The Swan Center for Advocacy & Research is hosting a 75 minute webinar on June 17, 2020, that critiques and parses out language to better lend guidance to anti-violence professionals whose roles and responsibilities may be in transition under the looming August 14 implementation date. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have questions.
Sincerely,
Wanda Swan, Executive Director
