Today is the final day to complete the campus gender-based violence prevention and advocacy practices benchmarking survey! We know each institution's responses strengthen our results.

We will not share individual institution-specific information directly (e.g., name of institution) or indirectly (large research 1 institution in North Carolina), but if sharing your institution name is a barrier to your participation, please simply enter "decline to answer" and ensure that your institution submits only one survey. Thank you again, and please let me know what questions you have at

Dear SAPC Colleagues:

This is a reminder that our web-based survey, Campus Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Advocacy Practices: A Benchmarking Study will close today and can be completed at: https://tinyurl.com/gbvbenchmark To answer a frequently asked question, we will not be identifying institutions directly OR indirectly (i.e., "a large public institution in the southeast") and will only be presenting results in aggregate. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you have. This survey was created with input from over 40 prevention educators and survivor advocates, and our results will be strengthened by each institution that participates. We are so grateful for your time and contribution to this study and look forward to sharing our results.

Study Aim

This study aims to gather national descriptive information about U.S. campus-based gender-based violence prevention and advocacy programs. This survey has been developed over the past year using a participatory action research process alongside CAPPA, including participation and feedback from over 40 gender-based violence prevention educators, survivor advocates, and researchers.

Eligibility

Any professionals who are responsible for gender-based violence prevention and/or survivor advocacy practices as an employee of a U.S. college or university campus. All of the survey questions ask about each college or university’s practices and not individual perspectives. If a participant is only able to answer questions about survivor advocacy or prevention but not both, they will be provided with an opportunity to share the survey with a colleague.

Privacy

As we are collecting information about institutional practices, we will be asking for specific campus demographic information including school name, state, number of students, and institution type (see attached PDF for more information on study questions). However, we will not be identifying individual institutions in any publications or reports resulting from this research. No information about the individuals completing the survey will be collected. At the end of the survey, participants will have an opportunity to enter a drawing for one of 20 $25 Amazon gift cards through a separate survey collector which will not be linked to the data.

Time for Completion

We anticipate survey completion will take 20 to 30 minutes.

Preparation

Some of the survey questions ask for specific numbers such as the number of students who have attended campus prevention and awareness programming or the number of students served in 2018 by survivor advocates during the August 2018 to July 2019 school year. To aid in preparing these numbers, the full survey instrument is attached to this email. If you have an annual report, it might also be helpful to have it available while you complete the survey.

Risks and Benefits

Your participation is voluntary but greatly appreciated to improve knowledge of campus gender-based violence prevention and survivor advocacy practices. There are no known risks associated with participation in this research. All participants will be entered into a drawing to receive one of 20 $25 gift cards.

Help Recruit Participants

This study will be strengthened through participation from as many institutions as possible. Therefore, we welcome your sharing our recruitment emails with colleagues or other professional listservs. If you would like us to add a listserv or person to our recruitment emails, please contact LB Klein at

Sharing the Results

We will be widely disseminating the results of this survey through a variety of means that could include publicly available reports, videos, white papers, infographics and peer-reviewed journal articles. If you have ideas, please contact LB Klein at
