I am writing to encourage you to submit a conference proposal for a unique conference about ending sexual violence.  The 2020 National Discussion on Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment at Colleges, Universities, and Service Academies promises to be a valuable opportunity to present your cutting edge research to leaders and experts from public, private, and government-run educational institutions nationwide.  The conference is being hosted by the Secretaries of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.  It will take place at West Point on April 1-3.  The link for the call for proposals is immediately below, along with more information about this conference.  Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.

What:  2020 National Discussion on Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment at
Colleges, Universities, and Service Academies.

When: 1-3 April 2020

Where: U.S. Military Service Academy at West Point, New York

Why: The overarching purpose of the National Discussion is to create a forum
for leaders and experts at public, private, and government-run educational
institutions from across the nation to share best practices and to develop
strategies to reduce the prevalence of sexual assault and sexual harassment
and related undesirable behavior in America's education system. The focus is
to advance and continue the national conversation on sexual assault and
sexual harassment in a college and university setting The theme for the
National Discussion is - Engaging and Partnering for Excellence.

Who: Representatives for the Department of Defense (DoD), Congress,
Colleges, Universities, Service Academies, other leaders, and  subject
matter experts from across the nation, will convene to enhance partnerships
and collaboration between American educational institutions. 

Background:  In December 2018, Secretary of the Army, Secretary of the Navy
and Secretary of the Air Force announced a National Discussion on Sexual
Assault and Sexual Harassment at America's Colleges, Universities, and
Service Academies. Service Secretaries will open the discussion to leaders
and subject matter experts who are actively working to end sexual violence
as a nation.  

Goals:  The National Discussion focuses on three primary goals:

a.      Share evidenced-based practices to reduce sexual assault and sexual
harassment at colleges, universities, and service academies.
b.      Identify and discuss the positive and negative social and
environmental factors and behaviors influencing the conditions surrounding
sexual assault and.
c.      Cultivate a network of senior leaders, experts, and dynamic thinkers
who will continue to collaborate towards the goal of reducing sexual assault
and sexual harassment at colleges and universities.

Areas of Focus include: Healthy Relationships, Prevention, Innovative
Approaches, Evaluation, Culture/Climate and Leadership, and Gender Specific
