The NASPA Sexual and Relationship Violence Prevention, Education, and Response Knowledge Community are currently recruiting professional staff members within NASPA to serve as mentors, mentees, or a peer-to-peer relationship for our mentorship program for the Knowledge Community (KC). The mentorship program will serve as an opportunity to foster one-on-one professional relationships for both new and seasoned professionals in the anti-violence prevention and advocacy field. This will also serve as space for those who would like to transition into the field.
Role of the Mentor:
· Shares information about their background, skills and interests
· Listens actively
· Serves as a positive role model
· Helps mentee set educational/career goals
· Encourages building self-confidence and self-esteem
· Offers mentee constructive and meaningful advice and feedback
· Celebrates milestones and achievements with mentee
· Acts as a resource for information about the anti-violence field
Role of Mentee:
· Takes responsibility for keeping in regular contact with mentor and actively participates in the relationship
· Assesses professional strengths, learning and developmental needs, values and short and long-term career goals
· Develops a plan with mentor for achieving these goals
· Follows through on commitments and goals
· Openly shares successes and failures
· Is receptive to feedback and coaching
· Takes advantage of opportunities presented by the mentor
Role of Peer to Peer:
· Share professional development opportunities and consult with each other on current happening in the field

Time Commitment:
- Monthly Calls with Mentor/Mentee
