Subject: Parents and Caregivers are WELCOME at SPECTRUM!

Dear GTW ListServ Members,

We are pleased to make two important announcements, both aimed at assisting parents and caregivers with making the most out of the SPECTRUM conference, July 9-10, 2019.

Mamava Nursing Parent Station Last year at SPECTRUM we offered a room and refrigeration to nursing parents, but it was a bit more distant from sessions than we thought ideal. This year, we are pleased to welcome Mamava as a SPECTRUM sponsor. They will be providing a space for nursing parents that we will place just steps away from content, meaning nursing parents can get the most out of the conference. We are grateful to Mamava for partnering with us to meet this goal.

Caregivers Are Welcome and We Will Cover Their Registration Last year we were pleased to welcome the caregivers for family members of some of our attendees to assist them in fully experiencing the conference (and loved seeing the SPECTRUM babies crawling around the conference site). We are pleased to announce that the SUNY Student Conduct Institute will sponsor the registration costs of caregivers who attend SPECTRUM alongside paid registrants to assist that registrant with child or other family member care responsibilities so that the paid registrant can fully experience the conference. To request a free registration for a partner, family member, or friend who will be serving as a care giver for a child or family member, please e-mail with Caregiver Registration in the subject (Caregiver Registration will include access to all conference meals and refreshments). A staff member will reach out with a registration code and we look forward to welcoming you.

Join our nearly 500 registrants (and counting) for the nation’s premiere conference addressing violence against LGBTQI+ students and community members. Regular Registration pricing ends June 27, so be sure to register today!

See You at #SUNYSPECTRUM!

SUNY SPECTRUM 2019

•  JULY 9-10  •  Albany, NY •  Albany Capital Center •

The nation’s largest education conference devoted to preventing and responding to sexual and interpersonal violence against members of the LGBTQI+ community.

The second annual SPECTRUM conference will take place in Albany, NY July 9-10 with Pre-Conference sessions July 8.

SPECTRUM is the nation’s largest education conference devoted to preventing and responding to sexual and interpersonal violence against members of the LGBTQI+ community.   It provides cutting-edge training to enhance the knowledge and skills of attendees through training to faculty, staff, law enforcement, medical professionals, and community and state agency service providers to turn the dial on sexual and interpersonal violence against sexual and gender minorities, while providing the most trauma-informed, and culturally-competent response and care when incidents do occur.
