Staff Psychologist, Counseling Center Sexual Assault Services Coordinator

The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) is seeking a Staff Psychologist, Counseling Center Sexual Assault Services Coordinator to join our dynamic multidisciplinary Counseling Center team. Psychologists in the UMBC Counseling Center are responsible for providing counseling services for students experiencing personal, social, and emotional difficulties that may impede functioning and academic progress.

 

The Coordinator of Sexual Assault Services will develop, coordinate and evaluate the Sexual Assault Services program at the Counseling Center which includes clinical, outreach activities. 


Specific duties include: partnering with University Health Services and Health Promotion Office; collaborating with on and off campus departments to develop prevention and outreach programs for the campus; serving on a university-wide committees or workgroups on these topics; updating policies and procedures; training staff and interns/externs; providing group and individual psychological counseling to students on sexual assault related and other issues; and performing other duties as assigned.

 

Psychologists in the UMBC Counseling Center are responsible for providing counseling to students experiencing personal, social, and emotional difficulties that may impede functioning and academic progress.

 

Psychologists provide training and supervision for our APA internship and for our externship program.  This position will report to the Counseling Center Associate Director and work closely with staff from University Health Services, Career Services, Residential Life, Student Affairs staff, and faculty and staff from across the campus.

 

This position doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology and be licensed or license eligible as a psychologist in Maryland.  Early career and experienced psychologists are encouraged to apply. We seek candidates who are highly collaborative and self-motivated. The successful candidate will have strong clinical assessment and crisis intervention skills, competency in working with diverse student population, demonstrated skills in supervision and training, and experience in brief therapy and group counseling, experience with mental health promotion and have experience working in a university counseling center with strong student service orientation.   Note:  A background check may be required for this position.

 

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is full-time and includes full University benefits package.
