The Office of Respect at Emory University is hiring for a Survivor Resource Specialist. Please see description below:
JOB DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Director of the Office of Respect, this position is a key member of the university's efforts to provide confidential advocacy-based counseling, case management, and on-call accompaniment to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Assists the staff in sustaining a culture of interpersonal violence prevention and survivor resiliency through anti-oppression activism. Works with campus partners to achieve these goals through anti-oppressive trauma-informed training opportunities. Manages and implements the office's survivor resiliency initiative that includes awareness and survivor support education programs for the campus community. These responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, curriculum design; presentations and workshops for classes and student organizations; staff training, policy review and development; advising student organizations and community coalition building. Forecasts survivor and community response needs. Serves as liaison on relevant advocacy/response campus and community committees. Advises the peer-led advocacy training and support group, Sexual Assault Peer Advocates (SAPA). Assists in the coordination of new student orientation education with the Assistant Director of Prevention. Collaborates to provide training on survivor support to faculty, staff, and student responders. Collaborates to promote sexual health education and its intersection with the office's comprehensive interpersonal violence prevention strategic plan. This position will be the lead advocate and manage our 24/7 on-call rotation system. May supervise student staff and/or interns. Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A master's degree (MPH, MSPH, MSW, or MA) is required in public health, higher education, student affairs, communication, social work, counseling, or related field. Demonstrated knowledge of, and evidence of experience applying, health promotion and behavior change theories and the ecological framework in the prevention of sexual assault and intimate partner violence with college-age populations.
