Colleagues,

Hope this finds you well and enjoying the beginning of summer. We have exciting news about two recent keynote additions at the SPECTRUM conference June 19-20, 2018 in Albany, NY. In addition to keynotes by Jim Obergefell, lead plaintiff in Obergefell v. Hodges; Jane Clementi, founder of the Tyler Clementi Foundation; and Dr. Genny Beemyn, the nation’s leading scholar on preventing violence against Transgender people, we are honored to be joined by Sarah Warbelow, the Legal Director of the Human Rights Campaign; and excited to be joined by the legendary Antuan Raimone, of Hamilton The Musical. Jim, Jane, Sarah, Genny and Antuan are part of a slate of more than 40 eminent speakers who will offer sessions on preventing and responding to violence against LGBTQI+ students and community members.

So far, we have attendees from Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Washington, DC, Wisconsin, and Canada. We still have capacity to welcome additional attendees who wish to attend our three-dozen sessions with national thought leaders in addition to our six remarkable plenary sessions. We also have great deep-dive pre- and post-conference options on June 18 and 21.

Tickets for Hamilton on Broadway could easily set you back $500. Registration for SPECTRUM is only $125. Either way, you can see (and perhaps meet) Antuan Raimone. But SPECTRUM offers so much more. For those of us who want to better serve our students and community members, SPECTRUM is the place to raise capacity and move from idea to impact.

Register here: http://www.suny.edu/events/spectrum/. We have heard from a number of campuses who want to register more than one person and pay together. If your campus wishes to use batch registration, or if you are an international registrant (we welcome you), please e-mail Beth Osborne at and she will send you a form.

See You At SPECTRUM!
