At Duke, we let the respondent remain on campus until the end of the appeals process. However, at UNC Chapel Hill, their policy says that, after a finding of responsibility and imposition of a sanction of suspension or expulsion, “there will be an immediate assessment by the EEAC [the threat assessment team] to determine whether the Responding Party poses a serious threat of disruption of the academic process or a continuing danger to other members of the University community or university property. The EEAC may impose interim suspension pending the conclusion of an appeal.”

Hi SAPC list partners,
I would love to hear back from folks about how your campus or school system policy handles whether students who have been found to have violated sexual misconduct may remain on campus during the appeals process. Are any colleges/universities that prohibit a respondent from being on campus during an appeal?
Thanks,
