Colleagues,

Can you help spread the word about this resource for college students? The research team is hoping that both institutions (like your prevention office or dean of students office) and student groups will help get the word out.  Please feel free to share this with those you think might be interested.

We need your help to make students safer.

A research team at Johns Hopkins University as spent the past 10 years developing and testing myPlan, an innovative resource for college and university campuses to respond to dating violence.  See our short video here.

myPlan is an online tool designed to help students who may be experiencing dating violence evaluate their safety, make decisions, and connect to campus and community services. It’s also for friends who want to support someone they are concerned may be in an abusive relationship.

Backed by research from multiple NIH funded trials, myPlan can support student safety, is private, personalized for each situation, and completely free. It can be accessed online or via a downloadable smartphone app at myPlanApp.org

Will you help us ensure myPlan gets into the hands of students who need it most?

To help promote myPlan on campuses, we want to get the word out about the myPlan Campus Toolkit: a resource hub for campus staff, faculty, administrators, and student leaders. Here they’ll find a range of shareable tools to help raise awareness about this resource.

Here are a few ways YOU can help today:

·         Send info about the myPlan Campus Toolkit to your email networks and/or listservs

·         Post a link to the myPlan Campus Toolkit on your website(s)

·         Share the myPlan Campus Toolkit link on Facebook and other social media channels

·         Include info about the myPlan Campus Toolkit in an upcoming newsletter or other outreach to campus networks

* Find a few example posts attached to this email to use.

Feel free to contact me with any questions, and please let me know if we can count on you to share myPlan with your networks. We greatly appreciate your support to empower students with needed resources to stay safe.

Most sincerely,

Kathryn Laughon, PhD, RN, FAAN
