We wanted to share the launch of SafeBAE’s newest campaign on bystander intervention – BAEcode. 

The campaign features:

 

• GAME ON!: Our newest video is a training video which focuses on simple and funny distraction and de-escalation techniques. The film follows our heroine through a series of bystander opportunities where she gets her friends home safely and teaches the audience valuable, practical, everyday ways to intervene in familiar high-school party situations. Adjoining presenter, parent, and teen discussion guides will be available for free on our site. (The presenter guide can be used by both adult educators and peer-to-peer facilitators.)
• BAEcode Blog: We will collect and feature stories by teens of successful bystander interventions with the help of Hollaback. Hollaback and Break the Cycle will also be guest blogging.

• GIF keyboard: GIF powerhouse, Tenor.com, (recently acquired by Google), will join SafeBAE to harness the power of the Internet for good. Tenor will host an unprecedented curated library of GIFs to combat online harassment with creative, de-escalating, and humorous GIFs.
• Print materials: Downloadable educational posters, postcards, and statistics are available for free!
• Buzzfeed Bystander Quiz: here
• Snapchat: We will be taking over Break the Cycle’s “Taco Bout it Tuesday” Snapchat to answer questions about relationship violence, joining their monthly challenges, and guest blogging on their site.
