One important detail that is listed on the website, which I don’t see in the info below, is that there are two pre-requisites.  In order to be eligible to take the Campus Advocacy course, you have to be working as an advocate in a campus setting, AND have completed either NOVA’s 40 hour National Victim Assistance Academy (see: https://www.trynova.org/training/academy-nvaa/ which will be offered in Spring 2018), OR one of the NACP-approved trainings listed in various states here:  https://www.thenacp.org/pre-approved-trainings-by-location/.

Good Afternoon,

Thank you for the critical work National Alliance to End Sexual Violence does to promote and advance emerging issues and best practices in higher education. The National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA) has begun a new higher education initiative and training opportunity that may interest you and your members.  Should you have a resources page or ListServ for members, we hope you would consider sharing the following information regarding our upcoming program, the NOVA Campus Advocacy Training.   The following is additional information:

·        NOVA is now enrolling for our Winter 2018 NOVA Campus Advocacy Training (January 17-February 28, 2018)

·        The NOVA Campus Advocacy Training (NCAT) is a twenty (20) hour distance learning training designed to meet the growing need for specialized, skill-based training for campus victim advocates.  Offered through our National Advocacy Leadership Center (NALC), the six-week NCAT academy provides participants with advanced training in preventing and responding to sexual assault, stalking and interpersonal violence in higher education.

·         For more information and to register, please see:  https://www.trynova.org/training/ncat/

Thank you for your time! Please let me know if you would like any further information.

Warm regards,
Ally
