Hi everyone,

I am currently working with some students and colleagues to refine our forthcoming educational efforts with fraternities around sexual violence/misconduct. I’ve done trainings over the years with sororities where they ask why fraternities don’t have to do similar trainings, and had women tell us that a specific fraternity who we co-sponsor an event with shouldn’t be on the poster because they have a bad reputation. One idea we’re tossing around as a group is some way to gather information about fraternities’ reputations on campus, and use that to have an in-house dialogue about reputation, branding, values, etc. (reminiscent of the Branded a Leader trainings done with athletes) in order to figure out how to move forward and improve. However, there are concerns about how the information would be gathered, who would have access to it, how it could potentially be used against certain fraternities, etc.

Has anyone ever done anything like this on their campuses or heard of something similar being done elsewhere? I’d appreciate anything related to this kind of endeavor or efforts around fraternity or other group reputations/public images, etc. since we’re still in the brainstorming phase.

Thanks,

Kelley
