Subject: Dissertation Research Participants Needed

Hello,

My name is Lauren McGhee, and I am a doctoral candidate in Counseling Psychology at Howard University. I am conducting a dissertation study that examines thoughts, decision-making, and social attitudes amongst female trauma survivors. The results will have implications for understanding and improving trauma treatments for this unique population of young women. I have worked as a therapist at college counseling centers in the past; therefore I know that many female trauma survivors utilize your resources. That being said, I kindly ask that you assist me in recruiting participants by displaying my recruitment flyer in your counseling center, or forwarding the information and survey link below to female clients.

Specifically, I am seeking participants who are:

• Between the ages of 18 to 24

• Identify as Female

• Enrolled full time at a four-year college or university

Eligible participants will be asked to complete an anonymous online survey that will take approximately 30 minutes. All participants who complete the entire questionnaire will be offered the chance to enter a drawing to win one of three $100 visa gift cards. The Howard University Institutional Review Board has approved this research study (IRB-17-ED-16).

I have attached my recruitment flyer and IRB approval letter to this email and below please find the link to the survey:

If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me ( or ) or my research advisor, Dr. Angela Ferguson (). Furthermore, if there are questions you would like to discuss with someone other than the investigators on this study, feel free to contact the Howard University Institutional Review Board at (202) 865 – 8597 between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Thank you in advance for your assistance! And please do pass on this email, web link, or flyer to others who might be interested in participating!

Best wishes,

Lauren
