Hello,

I am a Master’s student at Smith College School for Social Work.  In order to complete my degree requirements, I am completing a thesis about sexual assault on college campuses.  Specifically, I am looking at what prevention and education efforts different colleges and universities may employ.  I am seeking to recruit college staff who work with sexual assault survivors or work with the Campus SAVE Act in any way.

I am hoping to interview 12-15 people about the approaches that their schools take regarding sexual assault prevention and education.  Interviews will be take place in-person, over phone or Skype and will be audio recorded for transcription purposes.  Participation will be confidential.  Neither your name nor your university name will be included in the final report.  The interview should take about 30 minutes of your time.  I am unable to offer compensation for participation in my study.

In order to participate in my study, you must either work with sexual assault survivors or have work that relates to the Campus SAVE Act in some way.  You must have at least a bachelor’s degree, and you need to have been in your position for at least a year.  If you do not meet these criteria, but you know someone who does, I would greatly appreciate it if you sent them a copy of this letter.

If it is possible for you to participate, I would greatly appreciate your involvement in my study.  Please call or email me if you would like to be involved, or if you would like more information about my research.

Thank you for your time,

Anastacia Webb
