Hi everyone,
--
Looking for some help from campuses who offer 24/7 confidential crisis response/advocacy services through their offices.
Our campus has sworn officers who are responsible for campus property and who serve as the primary liaisons for campus with our city police.
We have a long history of challenges in working effectively with our UP around their team contacting our responders (e.g. the correct contact numbers, for the right reasons, on a timeline that is helpful to the student(s), with all of the pertinent information...), and I've struggled to identify strategies to improve understanding of our role and the services we provide (e.g. we're not just another number that must be called, we exist to be helpful).
I'm looking for any examples of feedback or strategies that others have found successful in improving communications and consistent follow through on policies/practices between campus police and advocacy services.
Are you using MOUs? Something else?
Grateful for any guidance or information you're able to share.
Warmly,
Beth Montplaisir
