Greetings from Culture of Respect. I’m happy to try to answer your questions, as they might be of interest to others on the listserv, or anyone is welcome to reach out to me directly to set up a time to chat. Also, we will be extending the application deadline to 10/31, so that gives institutions more time to get your application in!

 

The Culture of Respect Collective is a two-year program based on the success of our 14-institution nationwide Pilot Program (happy to put you in touch with participants who can speak to their experience directly, and I’m pasting some of their comments about the program at the bottom of this email). The Collective is an interactive online platform that guides college stakeholders through a step-by-step program to improve their institutional efforts to prevent and respond to campus sexual violence. The evidence-based program is grounded in a comprehensive self-assessment, and includes collaboration with peers across the nation, technical assistance from Culture of Respect staff, and ongoing professional development.

 

The program is meant to meet any institution where they are, from early on their prevention efforts to already engaged in robust prevention and response. We do this by helping institutions take stock of their existing strengths and identifying areas where they have room to grow. Our Pilot participants who were very far along in offering comprehensive prevention and response identified areas for improvement and saw great value in the program.

Hello all,

I recently received an email regarding the Culture of Respect Collective and was wondering if anyone knew anything about this program. Has anyone attended this program and was it helpful? Would this be a program that would be helpful at an institution that already has a prevention department that has gender/power-based violence and bystander intervention training programs and initiatives, as well as has hired independent contractors to assess our sexual assault and campus safety initiatives and make suggestions for change? The deadline to register is on Oct. 21st and we are trying to decide if this conference is one that will be beneficial to supporting progress on campus or if it is one that mainly addresses campuses that are just beginning to go down the prevention road.
