The Women's Center at Lynn University is hiring a Women’s Center Coordinator with a focus in victim advocacy and sexual violence prevention and education. Lynn is currently accepting applications for the position of Coordinator, Women's Center. This is a full-time professional position responsible for providing services, programming, and advocacy to the students of Lynn University. This position supports the mission of the University and the goals of the Division of Student Affairs through programs and services that are developmental, educational, and promote student success. The Coordinator, Women's Center will provide leadership and support for initiatives, services, and efforts offered by the Women's Center. This individual will work closely with students, parents, and all stakeholders to foster a positive community of respect for one's self and others. This is a 12-month position with on-call responsibilities. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with the creation, development, and implementation of campus and community-wide programming, including, but not limited to, activities for Women's History Month, Sexual Violence Awareness Month and Domestic Violence Awareness Month;
  • Serve as a resource and provide training to the University community regarding issues of bystander intervention, sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking and other forms of gender based violence;
  • Provide program assessment as needed;
  • Act as an on-call first responder for incidents of sexual violence for university students.  This includes presenting university and community resources, answering questions, and providing assistance in obtaining and navigating services both on and off campus;
  • Provide advocacy, support, case management, and assistance to survivors of gender and/or relationship violence including victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, harassment, and/or stalking;
  • Remain current on local, national, and international issues that are affecting women and make recommendations related to the manner which the Women's Center and other partners can assist in raising/furthering awareness;
  • Develop student leadership in areas related to women's issues;
  • Work to create a campus culture that values all women and their diverse identities and experiences;
  • Provide contemporary information and referral sources to students seeking guidance;
  • Facilitate peer to peer education through the training and development of interns and student workers;
  • Assist with state and federal compliance reporting that includes, but is not limited to, Clery Act Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and Title IX.
  • Assist with departmental assessment of services, programs, and effectiveness;
  • Assist with campus-wide programming efforts as needed, as well as major divisional and institutional initiatives;
  • Serve on various divisional and campus wide committees;
  • Administer all other duties as assigned by supervisor, the Director of the Women's Center.
Qualifications
  • An earned master's degree in higher education, or equivalent, from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of two (2) years professional, post-graduate experience is required. The professional experience must align closely with the requirements of the position. Graduate work in equivalent area may be given consideration toward this requirement.
  • Professional experience working in a college or university setting desired.
  • Direct experience with advocacy, crisis management, and training.
  • A firm understanding and knowledge of student development theory.
  • A firm understanding and knowledge of the Clery Act, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and Title IX.
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
  • Must have evening and weekend availability to fulfill position responsibilities.
  • This position has on-call responsibilities that may requires visibility and presence on campus for immediate response.
  • Ability to maintain professional conduct and ethical behavior at all times.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentational, and interpersonal communication skills including, but not limited to a high ability to be an active listener.
  • Ability to effectively resolve conflict and manage crisis and emergency situations as well as an ability to foster a cooperative environment.
  • Ability to promote collaboration, team work, and involve stakeholders in the decision making process.

  • Strong relationship building skills and the ability to collaborate with individuals of diverse communities and cultures.
