Hi,

Our student organization, Men's Action Network (MAN), hosted this film followed by a panel discussion, which was very successful, but made it a long event. The film is excellent, but there is content that could be triggering and I would recommend announcing campus resources at the beginning and having victim advocates available for audience support. The film was introduced by a representative from our President's Office who had been an advisor for Men Against Rape (MARS), a past student organization on our campus. We had about six panelists, mostly students as well as a representative from the Delaware Men's Education Network (a network of Delaware organizations charged with engaging men in violence prevention). The panelists were asked prepared questions from our MAN student leader. I suggest limiting the number of panelists to about 4 and make sure to factor in plenty of time for audience Q & A. Some interesting questions arose around the intersectionality of masculinity and the transgender community, something to consider and be prepared for. I'm not sure that this is addressed in the film?

Best,

Jo

Greetings,

We plan to show the movie, THE MASK YOU LIVE IN from The Representation Project. Here is the trailer.

I was curious to see how other campuses might be using this movie in their programming. I’m hoping to focus on key male identifying audiences in Athletics and Greek Life.

Any thoughts?
