Reporting to the Director of the Respect Program, this position is responsible for assisting in implementing aspects of Emory's comprehensive interpersonal violence prevention and education initiatives through the Respect Office within the Office of Health Promotion. 


These initiatives may include, but are not limited to: curriculum/campaign design; presentations and workshops for classes, student organizations and residence hall communities; trainings for staff, students and faculty; population-based health promotion strategies; social marketing and social media; policy review and development; advising student organizations; and community organizing and coalition building. Assessment is a strong component of Campus Life and program outcomes are expected to be documented in written reports and verbal reports. 

Serves as coordinator of interpersonal violence prevention initiatives in new student orientation (Creating Emory, Haven, etc.). Supervises interns and advises student organizations. Coordinates Emory's Sexual Assault Awareness Month each April, including Emory Denim Day, advising the SAAW student organization, and other events. Develops and distributes health communication and promotional materials. Represents the Office of Health Promotion and Respect Program, participating in their overall activities and missions. Consults with staff, faculty and other students who are assisting students with concerns about sexual assault (survivors, friends of survivors, students concerned they may have perpetrated an assault, etc.). Promotes sexual health education and its intersection with violence prevention. May spend up to 20% of time on-call. Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

A Master's degree (MPH, MSPH, MSW, or MA) is required in public health, higher education, student affairs, communication, social work, counseling, or related field. Demonstrated knowledge of, and evidence of experience applying, health promotion and behavior change theories and the ecological framework in the prevention of sexual assault and intimate partner violence with college-age populations. Experience designing and facilitating training curriculua for diverse populations.
