I’m not sure how exciting this is (because we have not done it yet!) but at NOVA, we have more on-campus stalking reports than either sexual assault or dating/partner
violence, so we have purchased two large (3’ x 6’) vinyl signs that will be hung on clotheslines between trees a few days this fall. The point will be that it will attract attention (signs are white with purple writing at the top which states “Stalking is…”.
It will be a passive education initiative similar to The Clothesline Project except for this one, we will hand out 5x7 or 8x10 colored cardstock for the students to write the rest of that sentence and post it on the vinyl. The hope is that other students
who just happen to walk by will notice and stalking will get some well-deserved attention. Connie Connie J. On Behalf Of Juliette Grimmett Hey colleagues - I'm wondering if anyone has a great activity they do around stalking that they are willing to share? I generally work with the group to define stalking and then
have them come up with varying examples, put them on a spectrum and we discuss how context is really what matters, regardless of the actual act. Anything more innovative and/or exciting is greatly welcome! Thanks
