Hi Melissa,
I previously recommended Martin Liccardo of Men's Anti-Violence Network Utah (MAN) on this listserv. I'm not sure if you saw it already or not but I feel compelled to make sure you are aware of him as an option since we had such a good experience.

Marty is the most engaging educator I have ever worked with. In his role at MAN, he travels around Utah presenting on sexual and interpersonal violence prevention. He is known throughout the state by service providers, universities and agencies alike for his interactive and unforgettable presentation style. His focus is on men's engagement and healthy masculinity, bystander intervention, slut shaming and consent. He has a background in student affairs and is currently a health educator at the University of Utah. He presents at all of the University's orientations and is universally loved and respected by the students who have seen him present. Students have historically given great feedback on his presentations.

His presentations are already suited for a university setting but could be tailored to your university's community.

I highly recommend Mr. Liccardo as a speaker for your university. Please feel free to follow up or contact me with any further questions if you have them. You can reach Marty at

Best,
Darrah Jones

Greetings,

We are in the process of looking at programming for new student orientation in the fall and are trying to identify a speaker/performance group that covers the dynamics of sexual violence, consent, bystander interventions, etc.  There was an earlier thread on the list serve about speakers who share their stories as survivors, so I have that information.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, though one thing to note is that we've had better engagement from the students with speakers that are interactive and performances, over lecture based programming.

Best,
Melissa
