Hello!

I recommend Leah Burgess with whom I had the good fortune to work at Dartmouth College. She is stellar!

"B.Leah is a wife, mother, victim advocate, and firebrand Spoken Word Artist. She’s passionate about creating awareness around the impact of interpersonal violence in addition to being a support for survivors. She uses her voice to bring awareness to issues of oppression namely the intersections of interpersonal violence, gender, and racism. She has served survivors/victims in multiple capacities.

B. Leah is currently serving at Restoration Praise Center and the Department of Family Services Domestic Violence & Human Trafficking Supportive Services Division in Prince George's County Maryland. She's previously served as a Victim Advocate on CT’s Sex Offender Supervision Unit, and was the first Black woman to serve as the Sexual Abuse Awareness Program Coordinator at Dartmouth College. "

She can be reached at:

Peace,
Xenia

Good afternoon!

We are (already!) gearing up for fall programming and wanted to see if anyone had suggestions for speakers for our annual fall program. It's focused on having a speaker who shares a story as as survivor, and is followed by peer facilitated small group discussions. (Facilitators go through intensive training prior to program.)

We've had such amazing speakers in the past, and are looking to hear from colleagues about someone you would highly recommend!

Many thanks in advance!
