Good afternoon,

NIWAP is seeking your help to collect information about sexual assault on college campuses and the experiences of immigrant/foreign born survivors in these cases. Please complete this survey<http://emarketing.wcl.american.edu/c/26479503/1065/4Vsyl6m/7k0md2zwhq?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fforms%2Fd%2F1ApWfe9tpkAwxocTG0rm2wLpMj_Itlcv2M5ckYCwaS1U%2Fviewform> by Friday April 22, 2016.

The Clery Act was enacted as part of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) of 2013. The Clery Act and Title IX together offer remedies and assistance to students who become victims of sexual assault, stalking, dating victims and domestic violence.

Colleges and universities across the country have significant numbers of foreign born persons who are members of the university community in a variety of ways – students, faculty, staff and/or their spouses and children. When foreign born persons within the university community become victims of sexual assault, stalking, dating violence, or domestic violence perpetrated on campus by a member of the campus community or have suffered such abuse off campus or in the past, there are a range of legal remedies foreign born victims are eligible to receive.

Universities and colleges can play a key role in offering much needed remedies and implementing interim measures that offer assistance, protection and help that promotes healing for crime victims. The purpose of this survey is to document the types of remedies, interim measures, and support that foreign born students need when they have been victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence or stalking. We also hope to better understand who the university staff, faculty, administrators, programs, and student run organizations are whom victims of these crimes turn to for assistance, and the role they play in educating foreign born members of the university community about immigrant crime victims' legal rights in the United States.

All information provided to us in this survey is confidential, all information collected will be reported in aggregate form, and no individually identifying information will be reported.

We thank you in advance for taking the time to participate in this survey and forwarding it to other service providers. We will distribute the results widely: to you, your organization, and to government agencies. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at <mailto:>.

Sincerely,
