I wanted to help spread the word about this amazing, entirely queer created series!! Looking for a truly inclusive event for LGBTQ+ programming? The cast of the new web series Her Story are currently on tour! Her Story, a ground breaking new-media series, is written, directed, produced, and stars Trans* and queer women. It has been featured in over 20 print and online publications including The Advocate, Curve, The Guardian, The Hollywood Reporter, MSNBC'S So Popular with Janet Mock, People.com, and Salon, and had its premiere at NewFest , New York's LGBT Film Festival , where the cast and creative team took part in a panel moderated by Laverne Cox. The Her Story Tour offers a unique opportunity for your students to be a part of the ongoing and timely conversation around trans representation and participation in the media and the LGBTQ+ community. By bringing the series and stars to your campus this winter and spring, you can help further the dialogue and awareness about the Trans* community and help bridge the gap between entertainment and education. We are currently accepting offers for dates, but act quickly as they are filling up fast. You will not want to miss this opportunity to educate and inspire. Please reach out to Jess Murphy () for inquires and booking details. I would be happy to work with you to put together an affordable program that will be the perfect fit for your campus! Cheers, Jess Haven't heard about Her Story? Here's what folks are saying about it: "As the short episodes played one after the other, faces beamed while watching the complex lives of lesbians and trans women being told in a way that actually felt real. Several times while watching the series, I felt tears rolling down my cheeks. The characters felt more familiar than anyone before them... Finally, an L Word for all of us." - Mary Emily O'Hara (The Daily Dot) “Her Story is poised to be one of the most authentic onscreen depictions of trans women ever. Not only that, but since the cast and crew is filled with so much talent and their vision for the project is so clear and detailed, it’s also poised to be one of the best onscreen depictions of trans women ever…Her Story is exactly the kind of trans media that I want to see.” - Mey Rude for Autostraddle “This series is so real, specific and intense – and, I hope, a model for future television programs – because it is the first show made by a collective of trans and queer writers, actors, directors, producers, camera people and musicians…[it’s] gritty, sexy and real. Her Story could be the new rad-fem soap opera. The characters all work against cliché, exploitation and political correctness…[But] what is most moving about Her Story is that it is about love: the hunger for love, the obstacles to love, the triumphs of love, the confusion of love, the possibility of love.” -Eve Ensler for The Guardian |
