Good afternoon everyone,
I'm in the process of redesigning our university's peer education program and am looking into implementing a much more extensive (i.e. semester-long) training and preparation for our peer educators, and was hoping to find other institutions who also do so.
When I was a peer educator at my undergraduate alma mater, the student facilitators took a 1-credit class concurrently while they served as educators. I've also been looking at models where the students complete a full semester of training before giving workshops.
Anyone who would be willing to provide me a little information about their training process would be greatly appreciated! I am both trying to build such a program and justify the need for such training to the administration.
Best,
