Dear All, (Apologies for cross-postings!) Earlier this summer I sent out the initial response from Jim Hopper, David Lisak, and Allison Tracy regarding Swartout et. al.’s recently published article about serial and one-time rapists; many of you had probably already seen it, as
it was posted on the Prevent Connect website. I’m really pleased to have the chance to share
a revised and expanded critical response from Hopper, Lisak, and Tracy. You can also see the attached document as well as visit the linked site. I find this expanded critique to be extremely helpful, and
I hope that some of you find it helpful, too. Since the Swartout et. al. article received so much attention from media and anti-violence organizations, I hope that we be able to share this important critique just as much as the original article was shared; please feel free to send
this document and the site link to your list servs and your colleagues, etc. Sincerely, Mahri Mahri Irvine, PhD IU Statewide Sexual Assault Education and Prevention Specialist Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis Walker Plaza 220 719 Indiana Avenue Indianapolis, IN 46202 317-274-2501 (office) 317-278-0948 (fax) Heard about new research claims about serial rapists?
Check out an extremely important interpretation of these claims! |
