Megan, I consulted with other staff. Our Director of the Office of International Students & Scholars indicated that YES, this should be reported to Fulbright. He said: It is policy for the program sponsor to notify the U.S. Department of State of any changes in or violations of the visiting scholar's (or J-1 student?) status. My assumption is
that IIE is the program sponsor here, and that it is their responsibility to do so. That said, the university is the site of activity and should have notified IIE about this issue ASAP as a courtesy of their sponsorship agreement. Myself & two other people assisted with a sexual misconduct training of new Fulbright Scholars at UD this summer and the scholars were informed that such a violation would be
reported and known to the Fulbright Program. Hope that is helpful. Angela

Elizabeth Selheim [mailto:] We recently found a visiting Fulbright Scholar (international student completing a year at our university) responsible for sexual misconduct violations and have expelled him.
Does anyone know if we need to notify the Fulbright Program? He finished his Fulbright year in April, so he’s not currently on campus anyway.
