Hi Rebecca and colleagues,

We've been working a lot on this here at EverFi, focusing our research on the key elements of a comprehensive prevention approach. Our review of dozens of publications drew out hundreds of guidelines, recommendations, and standards that helped us develop a useful framework for thinking about prevention. The key pillars we identified are programming, critical processes, and institutionalization, each with a subset of categories and recommendations. The framework is attached as an image.

We then translated the recommendations in each pillar into a set of assessment items that could be used to benchmark a campus's prevention efforts against these best practice guidelines. We piloted the tool among a subset of our partners this April, and are now wrapping up our preliminary analysis. I will actually be presenting a webinar on 9/30 that will include a review of our findings. All are welcome to attend (registration link and description below).

Best,
Rob

These data will uncover rich student perspectives on campus climate and leadership, training and education, and sexual assault experiences. Common themes regarding the needs and strengths of campus employees will be highlighted to guide ongoing efforts to engage staff and faculty. National trends regarding campus prevention efforts will be explored to provide unprecedented insights on the state of the field and opportunities for campus administrators and prevention professionals to strengthen their efforts to support and protect students.

Hi Rebecca,

I found that the research on Institutional Betrayal was useful for higher ed and many other environments.

Hi all,

Does anyone know of/have access to/tips on  a campus and community self-assessment tool regarding response to sexual & other interpersonal violence? I think I am nearing critical mass with supporters to the movement and think this would be a good next step to start some pointed conversation.

Thanks,

Rebecca Harrington
