HI Sara,

I hope you are doing well.  When I was at the university, we too found it to be difficult to get participation from students through the online forums.  I know it takes far more time, but I found it to be helpful to have face to face presentations to students through FYE courses, General interest meetings for student groups and targeted classes through collaboration by the professors.  I also found that telling the students about the online program in person helped increase participation rates.  It is one of those topics, that I find it helps when we highlight the importance and allow a dialogue about the topic.  Also, I was fortunate to have undergraduate interns who helped spread the message about the importance of the trainings.

Best of luck.  Warmly,

Dear All,

Our Title IX Coordinator and committee are really struggling with student participation in our Title IX educational efforts. We use Haven for incoming students with some success, but have tried online modules for our existing students with little to no participation (the University has chosen not to make them mandatory). Currently the modules have information on dynamics of SA, DV, and stalking, reporting, and policy. Does anyone have any suggestions/experiences in creating successful programs? Thanks, Sara
