Sexual Assault Victim-Survivor Advocate

Major Responsibilities to Include:
This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating Georgia Tech’s victim advocacy and support program within the Office of Health Promotion. Provide direct service, confidential crisis counseling, referrals and advocacy to students who seek support as a result of sexual and relationship violence. Coordinate campus and community resources to support survivors of sexual violence. Assess needs and develop long and short range program goals, and conduct training and education programs. Assist with planning, implementation and evaluation of health education strategies aimed at influencing health behaviors of college students.
Education:
Masters or advanced degree in public health, social work, health policy, counseling, health promotion, health education, student affairs, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Experience:
Minimum of two to three years of related experience. Experience in Rape Crisis Counseling. Experience working in a University environment. Must be able to work flexible evening and weekend schedule, as necessary. Knowledge of health promotion, behavior changes and population-based theories, evidence-based health promotion programs/initiatives, environmental management strategies/ecological model, and student development theories and models. Computer experience to include: Windows XP, Microsoft Office ~ Word, WordPerfect, Outlook and Excel.
